The Qualified Electronic Timestamping Service - Legal Date™, allows to certify your electronic documents with a quadruple guarantee:
1. preventing tampering and forgery of the electronic document as a result of the creation and adding of an electronic seal pursuant to article 35 – section 5 of the EIDAS Regulation
2. certifying the existence of the electronic document thanks to its association to a specific date and time, which are guaranteed, legally valid and able to prevail against third parties, pursuant to article 41 – section 6 pf the EIDAS Regulation
3. assuring authenticity, integrity, reliability, readability and availability of the certified electronic document over time
4. confidentiality of the electronic documents and their content: the document is endorsed in complete security and in full compliance with the Privacy Law
The IT procedure needed for the Qualified Electronic Timestamping Service lasts a few seconds; in this procedure the electronic document is processed as described below:
The PDF uploaded by the user is made secure thanks to the electronic seal SecurePaper™, also known as electronic mark or glyph, pursuant to article 35 of the eIDAS European Regulation no. 910/2014, and it is represented by a QR Code added to the Certificate of Trusted Timestamping (an additional document created by our software that will be included in the original uploaded PDF as a cover page); this procedure guarantees that the document has not been altered in any way, ensuring that it has not been tampered or forged.
After that, a Qualified Electronic Time Stamp is added to the PDF “made secure” by our online software; this is in compliance with article 41 of the eIDAS European Regulation no. 910/2014; the Time Stamp is issued by a Qualified Trust Service Provider in compliance with article 19 of the eIDAS European Regulation no. 910/2014; the Time Stamp certifies the existence of the electronic document on a specific date and at a specific point of time, thus making the document legally valid and inabling it to prevail against third parties, eliminating all potential backdating risks.
The Digital Archiving Service, guaranteed by a trusted service provider, certifies that the electronic document is non-perishable, thus ensuring its integrity, readability and availability for 10 years, as well as guaranteeing the document’s legal validity, which means that it gains value as evidence in court.
Research and visualization of a document which has been certified with a Legal Date, as well as its verifiability and validity, are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, by entering your Reserved Area; from here it is possible to search for the document using the keywords selected while the electronic file was being saved.
What we show is the first electronic document timestamped and certified with a Qualified Electronic Time Stamp issued by a Qualified Trust Service Provider and an Electronic Seal through the Legal Date service: it consists of a 43 pages PDF file in A4 size, with the Certificate of Trusted Timestamping included: CLICK HERE to download it
The electronic seal added to the Certificate of Trusted Timestamping contains the original certified file stored in a trusted archive and, to access it, you need to scan the QR Code with the app HONOS, available for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.
After reading the code, HONOS will display the original electronic document, and it is either possible to download it on your smartphone or tablet, or send it by email, or save it using cloud storage services.
